A Planning Guide for A Catholic Funeral.
Our Diocesan Cemeteries Department is happy to share a new guide called, A Planning Guide for A Catholic Funeral.
This new guide is available online (link below) and it is an interactive document that helps our families understand the Catholic teaching with regard to death, burial and Catholic funeral rites, as well as to provide a fillable document that is useful at the time of someone's passing. When completed while pre-planning, the guide provides all the details regarding the person's funeral and wishes, and other pertinent information that family members would need to know at the time of death.
Here is an outline of the brochure:
- Catholic Teaching on Death and Burial
- Three Parts to the Catholic Funeral Rite
- What to do When Death is Imminent or Has Occurred
- Funeral Planning – In this section (page 12) the guide becomes interactive with fields that can be completed to help those planning ahead, and then it can be used to help their loved ones who will handle the funeral and the will of the deceased.
